This will result in significant fuel efficiencies during operation. Brunel University London is seeking companies who are interested in partnering to scale up this patented design. This could be HGV trailer manufacturers or in related areas of manufacturing of cars, particularly high performance/speed vehicles, coaches, train carriages and boats.

Researchers at the University of Burgos have developed a process for the anaerobic treatment and biogas production from wastewater with high oil and grease content. It is known that even low levels of oil and grease produce important upsets of the conventional anaerobic treatment process in long term operation. In the same way, in the MBR technology it is recommended pre-degreasing oily wastewater to avoid fouling problems. However, the anaerobic treatment with membrane biomass retention and the application of advanced fouling control methods let recover the methanogenic potential of lipids making it a robust and competitive treatment method for wastewater with high oil and grease content.

The A3 Chair in Leather Innovation developed an innovative aqueous extraction procedure to obtain a tannin-rich extract from seed grapes. The new extract contains a mixture of tannins and non-tannins which confers an improved antioxidant and light fastness properties. The extract also contains a colouring agent similar to that obtained with the Chestnut Tree extract. The main characteristic is the capacity to precipitate proteins and make them resistant to decomposition, for which reason the extract is useful as tanning agent for hides and skins.
